چکیده

New tunneling data are reported in underdoped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8−δ using superconductor-insulator-superconductor break junctions. Energy gaps, ∆, of 51±2, 54±2 and 57±3 meV are observed for three crystals with Tc=77, 74, and 70 K respectively. These energy gaps are nearly three times larger than for overdoped crystals with similar Tc. Detailed examination of tunneling spectra over a wide doping range from underdoped to overdoped, including the Josephson IcRn product, indicate that these energy gaps are predominantly of superconducting origin. Enhanced superconducting gaps in the trilayer high-temperature Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O(10+δ) cuprate superconductor.

We report the first observation of the multilayer band splitting in the optimally doped trilayer cuprate Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O(10+δ) (Bi2223) by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The observed energy bands and Fermi surfaces are originated from the outer and inner CuO2 planes (OP and IP). The OP band is overdoped with a large d-wave gap around the node of Δ0∼43  meV while the IP is underdoped w...

The Magnetic Origin of dx2-y2 High-Tc Superconductivity from Tunneling Spectroscopy Measurements on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x Single Crystals

The complete scenario of high-Tc superconductivity based on experimental data from electron-tunneling spectroscopy on underdoped, overdoped and Ni-doped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x single crystals using a break-junction technique is presented. There are two different types of superconductivity in cuprates: superconductivity due to pairing of spinons on charged stripes and magnetic superconductivity mediate...

Linear and Field-Independent Relation between Vortex Core State Energy and Gap in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O81d

We present a scanning tunneling spectroscopy study on quasiparticle states in vortex cores in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ. The energy of the observed vortex core states shows an approximately linear scaling with the superconducting gap in the region just outside the core. This clearly distinguishes them from conventional localized core states and is a signature of the mechanism responsible for their discre...

Scanning Tunneling Spectroscopy of Bi2Sr2CuO61d: New Evidence for the Common Origin of the Pseudogap and Superconductivity

Using scanning tunneling spectroscopy, we investigated the temperature dependence of the quasiparticle density of states of overdoped Bi2Sr2CuO6+δ between 275 mK and 82 K. Below Tc=10K, the spectra show a gap with well-defined coherence peaks at ±Δp≃12meV, which disappear at Tc. Above Tc, the spectra display a clear pseudogap of the same magnitude, gradually filling up and vanishing at T∗≃68K. ...

Energy gaps in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ cuprate superconductors

The relationship between the cuprate pseudogap (Δ(p)) and superconducting gap (Δ(s)) remains an unsolved mystery. Here, we present a temperature- and doping-dependent tunneling study of submicron Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+δ) intrinsic Josephson junctions, which provides a clear evidence that Δ(s) closes at a temperature T(c) (0) well above the superconducting transition temperature T(c) but far belo...
